I am the lovers gift, and I am the wedding wreath. I am the memory of a moment of happiness, and I am a part of sorrow.

But I only look up high, to see the light from above, and never look down to see my own shadow. This is the wisdom which man must learn. via Tumblr

New on 500px : Vanishing veins by Vahlenkamp by Vahlenkamp

The footprint of a leaf…and the footprint of the veins…Everything has a footprint. We walk on them, eat in them, drink in them. They’re the one thing we never seem to get away from. Like a shadow…No matter how fast you run, they will always keep ut with you…As the last message from a leaf that crumbles…The footprint that expresses its span of life… via Tumblr

New on 500px : Fungus fable by Vahlenkamp by Vahlenkamp

These mushrooms also called fly agaric, were in historic time effectively used by the Vikings, when they were getting ready to invade a land. The Vikings essentially turned off their fear emotions, thus gaining their reputation for their fierceness.
The people of many cultures of northern Europe lived in constant fear of invasion. Vikings where known to enter a village fearlessly, wreak havoc among the people and carry off the women.
Before entering battle, the Vikings would go through a religious ritual in which they would dance around the woods and consume Amanita muscaria. So the main reason the Vikings were able to fight without fear is that they were on drugs. For this reason the Vikings were also known as the berserkers. It is also worth mentioning that they had a strong belief in going to Wallhall after death (supposedly a great place to be for great warriors). via Tumblr
